Hexagons, Octagons & Samosas, oh my!

I’ve done some more updating of my older crochet patterns. This time it was Myrtle In The Round, Epic Picot Hexagon, Granny Was Framed, Samosa Purse and Octagonal Flower.

And once again, here are the before and afters! All these patterns are FREE 🙂

Materials:
DK weight yarn
4.00mm hook

Finished Size:
Approximately 7″/18cm along each side

Abbreviations:
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
hdc – half double crochet
sl st – slip stitch
sk – skip
st(s) – stitch(es)
mc – magic circle
yo – yarn over
beg – beginning
FLO – front loop only
BLO – back loop only
hdc-picot – work 1 hdc, 3ch, sl st in top of hdc

Foundation Round: Into mc, 8ch (counts as 1dc, 5ch), [3dc, 5ch] twice, 2dc, sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch to join, 1ch, turn.

Round 1: 1sc in same place as join, 2sc, [1sc in each of 5ch, 3sc] twice, 1sc in each of 5ch, sl st in FLO of 1st sc to join, 3ch (counts as 1dc), turn.

Round 2: Working in BLO, 2dc, *[1dc, 5ch, 1dc] in next st, 7dc* repeat from * to * twice, [1dc, 5ch, 1dc] in next st, 4dc, sl st in top of beg ch to join, 1ch, turn.

Round 3: 1sc in same place as join, 5sc, [1sc in each of 5ch, 9sc] twice, 1sc in each of 5ch, 3sc, sl st in FLO of 1st sc to join, 3ch (counts as 1dc), turn.

Round 4: Working in BLO, 5dc, *[1dc, 5ch, 1dc] in next st, 13dc* repeat from * to * twice, [1dc, 5ch, 1dc] in next st, 7dc, sl st in top of beg ch to join, 1ch, turn.

Foundation Round: Using colour A, into mc, 1ch, 6hdc, sl st in 1st hdc to join changing to colour B. Fasten off colour A.

Round 1: Using colour B, 6ch (counts as 1tr, ch2), 1tr in same place, 2ch, *[1tr, 2ch, 1tr, 2ch] in next st* repeat from * to * 5 times, sl st in 4th ch of beg ch changing to colour A. Fasten off colour B.

Round 2: Using colour A, 1ch, 1sc in same place, *[1sc, 1claw, 1sc] in next 2ch space, 1sc in top of tr* repeat from * to * 11 times, omitting last sc in tr, sl st in 1st sc to join changing to colour B. Fasten off colour A.

Round 3: Using colour B, 9ch (counts as 1tr, ch5), *sk next sc, claw & sc after, 1tr in next sc (so it lines up with tr on Round 1), 5ch* repeat from * to * 11 times, sl st in 4th ch in beg ch to join.

Round 4: Using colour B, 1ch, 1sc in same place, *5sc in 5ch space, 1sc in tr* repeat from * to * 10 times, 5sc in 5ch space, sl st in BLO of 1st sc to join.
