That was the main part of a project me and Chris were working on, the idea being to make our own pillows as neither of us wanted to be poisoned by formaldehyde from the polyester pillows we had been sleeping on. (note: we do not vouch for the validity of the article, just something else to consider in the sick polluted world in which we live.)

We could have bought feather pillows, but as we had the ability to make our own, we did.

And failed.

It just did not turn out as comfortable as we wished and so the pillowcases that Chris knitted so exquisitely in Jumbo Cotton White,Β  from Yarn Paradise were frogged, and no, that is NOT an affiliate link, but clicking it may well force you to purchase unknown quantities of yarn πŸ˜‰

As for the 200 Cotton Wool Balls…

I’m sure that one day, when I’ve recovered, I’ll think of something to do with them!

I’ve Got The Blues

But in a good way!

Sirdar soft cotton aran
Sirdar soft cotton aran

As a result of bargain hunting on eBay, my new old yarn arrived this morning, there are actually 5 balls, but I’m using one for a new design…more of that later. The yarn is Sirdar Soft Cotton aran, and it really is soft…and squishy…and yarny and…oh the joy of new yarn!

Unable to find pure cotton socks inΒ a colour I like, and a price I can afford, I’ve decided to knit my own. The odd sock pictured above was to see if I could knit a heel…not bad for a first attempt. Now I’ve moved on to Β the real socks, sneak peek below…more to follow later, at the speed I knit, probably a lot later!!
