Fisherman’s Rib Puffer Pattern

Inspired by Puffer Jackets (if indeed one can be inspired by such an unflattering garment!), I devised this pattern based on one of my favourite stitches, the Fisherman’s Rib.

Fisherman’s Rib Puffer Pattern

Abbreviations
k – knit
p – purl
st/sts – stitch/stitches
k1b – insert your right needle through the stitch below the first st on the left needle, bring the yarn through and lift st off left needle

Using a 3.5mm needle, cast on an even number of sts.

Row 1: Using a 3.5mm needle, purl across. (wrong side)

Rows 2 – 20: Using a 4.5mm needle, *P1, klb* to last 2 sts, p2.

Row 21: Using a 3.5mm needle, purl across.

Row 22: Using a 3.5mm needle, knit across.

The above 22 rows form the pattern.

Note: There was a long debate over whether it is a Puffa Jacket, or Puffer Jacket, I decided on the latter, the former sounded so gangsta!!
